All year long I've been struggling trying to decide on what chairty I wanted to collect donations for during our light show. At first I wanted to do some kind of Christmas Charity tying into what we are doing with the light show. I wanted to help a charity that could use the money throughout the year and not have to wait until Christmas to use the donations you help me give to them. After having our first child born on March 23rd of this year, I quickly realized the importance of having a place like C.H.O.A. Thank God our child has not had any major health issue's, but I know if she did, Childrens would be my first phone call. These folks specialize in pediatric care and are the best at what they do. It is through the help of volunteers like you and your donations that keeps Childrens there when you need them.
Join us in helping the children of Atlanta . Without Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (C.H.O.A) many sick or disabled children would not have a very Merry Christmas. Please read the information below to learn more about C.H.O.A.
You can drop your donations into the RED candy cane drop box located by the street light at the show or click here to dontate on line.
This is in no way shape or form a personal charity for our benefit nor will we be keeping any percentage of the donations. 100% of the money collected will go directly to C.H.O.A once counted after New Years Day.
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation
Working with Donors, Charities and Corporations to Support Children's
The Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing health, hope and happiness to children through philanthropic and volunteer support for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
The Foundation works with individual donors, charitable foundations and corporationsto enhance medical services and programs, and to help care for children whose families could not otherwise afford to pay. In 2008, Children's provided $103 million in unreimbursed costs of care to patients and families in need who could otherwise not afford it.
In addition, the Foundation relies heavily upon volunteers who donate their time and energy in support of Children's, both in the hospitals and throughout the community. In 2008, Friends in-hospital volunteers donated more than 79,515 hours of their time. This translates into $1.55 million in cost savings for Children’s. Additionally, community volunteer groups raised more than $2.1 million for Children's through their many fundraising activities and events.
